What’s Tomi Dashi

WASHO COOK, a cooking school far foreigners based in Japan and New Zealand, has opened more than 200 franchised cooking schools for foreigners the new product “Tomidashi” is a new type of soup stock produced by Tominaga, a popular cooking chef and representative of the company, based on his 10 years of experience in cooking lessons for foreigners The new product “Tomidashi” can be easily dissolved in hot water and drunk as dashi, or enjoyed as furikake, onigiri (rice balls), and many other uses The brand name “Tomidashi” is token from the name of Representative Tominaga, “Tomi,” which means “abundant and full.

This symbolizes an encounter with home cooking that satisfies both mind and body. Representative Tominaga believes that “eating is living, and feeling with all five senses leads to memories that will last a lifetime,” so the product is designed not only for taste but also for aroma and appearance. Tomidashi* will continue to promote the enjoyment and richness of Japanese “dashi” culture whilê also handling ingredients from overseas The first batch will come in two flavors, cherry blossom and green tea.
