Class Schedule

Kain Tulog is the name of my project. Cooking lessons have already started. I welcome both foreign and Japanese guests. Gyoza (top left photo) and ramen are very popular right now. I use seafood. I post monthly menus on my website https://kaintulog.jp/, but I am flexible in what the guests and I will make and eat. Before the lesson, let us discuss and decide on the menu. Please refer to my Instagram https://www.instagram.com/chitojapan/. For your information, I also run a guesthouse so you can stay overnight. Tatami Room (Japanese style) 5,000 JPY/person/night. Bed Room (Western style) 7,000 JPY/person/night.

Sustainable Seafood

Please enjoy seafood while you are in Japan. There are many unique dishes made with fish, cephalopods (squid, cuttlefish, octopus), crustaceans (shrimp, crab, lobster), shellfish and seaweed. The environmental concern including the conservation of fisheries resources has risen internationally and like most people I am hoping that I could eat seafood forever. In order to do that, we must choose fish that are caught sustainably. Japanese people are very knowledgeable about how to eat fish. It is particular about the freshness of the fish. We have been eating sushi and sashimi for a long time. Japanese people also dry and process the fish. I would like to talk about the relationship between Japan and seafood in this lesson.

 

Menu: Rolled sushi, Kaisen don, Tempura, Horse mackerel nanban-zuke, Mackerel simmered in miso, Iwashi mentai (sardine with spicy cod roe), Teriyaki salmon, Fried mehikari (green eye from the deep sea), Takoyaki, Crab cream croquette, Adobong pusit (Philippines), Tilapia, Milkfish, Bouillabaisse, Paella
