We'll be in my studio and cooking school, which has all of the equipment we”ll need to cook incredible dishes together.

How to join?

  1. Please read participation condition carefully and make sure the class schedule!
  2. Please click on the schedule you want to join and make the reservation.
  3. Please enter necessary items and complete the application.
  4. Continue, please complete payment on the payment page.
  5. Confirmation of the contents of the application, email for participation will be sent.
  6. Please gather at the classroom place on the day before the start time. Cooking class begins.

Naohiko Watanuki

Teachers profile
Konnichiwa! Thank you very much for your interest to my profile. My name is Nao Watanuki. I retired in February 2023 from the International Development Consultancy where I worked for nearly 30 years. My background is fisheries. I was catching, managing and selling the fish in Asia, Africa and Latin America. I love seafood but considering overfishing, I feel the importance of eating fish sustainably. Now, my interest is cooking Japanese cuisine together with foreigners. Why? Because I feel proud of Washoku (Japanese cuisine), therefore I want the world to know our local dishes. Food from the sea and from the mountains. Washocook instructors cook natural ingredients like a work of art. I know cuisines of the world are also amazing. I lived in Germany, the Philippines, Senegal and UK. My lessons are not limited to Washoku. Soon or later, I will open a small guest house in Chiba. Tatami room (Japanese style) and Bed room (Western style). Before and/or after the lesson, you can relax in your room. This means my project is divided into two components, cooking classes and a guest house. My studio, an old folk house, is located just a five-minute walk from JR Chiba railway station. Please come directly from Narita/Haneda Airports or stop by on the way back to your home. Chiba is worth visiting. Please have a look at <https://www.ccb.or.jp/mice/e/why-chiba/news/>. I will do my best to make your stay in Chiba enjoyable and memorable. In the morning, let us go jogging together. During the daytime, I will show you around the town. In the evening, I will take you to the hot spring and spa if you want.
